Residing on the ’sunshine coast’ in Eastbourne near the seafront, just a short walk from Redoubt Fortress and beach, this thoughtfully renovated holiday home is ideal for familes or couples at any time of year. The fortress is one of only three surviving Napoleonic Redoubts in the United Kingdom, and is recognised by English Heritage as being of national importance, originally built to defend England during the Napoleonic wars over 200 years ago, and subsequently used by the military during the 1st and 2nd World Wars. It tells a fascinating story of military campaigns all over the world. You can even dress up in period costume, or try your strength and lift a cannonball! Fishing is also popular at the beach here, both day and night and all year round. Stroll along the promenade to the pier, sample the fresh seafood, enjoy the music from the bandstand or an evening at the theatre. The local leisure centre provides a great fun pool with waves and flume, plus sauna and steam room should the weather be inclement. Explore the South Downs National Park by foot, or take an open-top bus to Beachy Head and marvel at the breathtaking clifftop views. Annual events include the International Airshow in August, and International Tennis in June at Devonshire Park. Beach 500 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
